Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: SWKS), a global provider of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, has announced the expansion of its Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, introducing next-generation front-end modules (FEMs) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters designed to improve range, coverage, and throughput across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands.
The company’s Gen 2 FEMs have been validated across leading system-on-chip (SoC) platforms, while Skyworks’ Full-band filters offer a unique capability: simultaneous operation over the 5.170–5.895 GHz and 5.945–7.125 GHz bands with just one filter per band. This full-band approach enables access points to utilize every available channel up to the band edge, including high-power, non-DFS 160 MHz channels such as Channel 163.
Skyworks’ proprietary architecture aims to deliver high linearity at high power, enabling wireless systems to transmit more content at higher speeds over extended coverage areas. The Gen 2 FEMs are engineered to balance throughput and range, supporting up to 36 dBm EIRP for high-performance mesh networks while lowering power consumption with operation down to 3.15V. Nonlinear FEMs are compatible with digital pre-distortion (DPD) systems to further enhance range and throughput while maintaining efficiency.
“Skyworks provides Wi-Fi 7 solutions that deliver performance where it matters most,” said Herman Eiliya, vice president of Wi-Fi connectivity solutions at Skyworks. “Our Gen 2 FEMs and Full-band filters maximize throughput and range while minimizing latency, giving our customers a competitive edge to build smarter, faster, and more efficient wireless systems.”
The expanded portfolio is also compact and flexible, available in 3x3mm and 3x5mm multi-chip module (MCM) packages, and compatible with all major Wi-Fi SoC solutions. Combined, the FEMs and filters provide comprehensive coverage across 2 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, allowing device manufacturers to unlock the full potential of Wi-Fi 7 standards.
Samples of Skyworks’ expanded Wi-Fi 7 FEMs and filters are available now for customer design.
