Enlite, an India-based deep-tech company, has secured a patent in India for its Building Management System for Wireless Control of Equipment and a Method Thereof, positioning the country as a contender in a field historically led by global players.

The patented system eliminates the need for traditional wired infrastructure by introducing a wireless, cloud-connected, self-commissioning platform. According to the company, the technology reduces deployment time by up to 70%, removes the need for thousands of kilometers of cabling, and lowers associated carbon emissions. The platform has already been deployed across commercial buildings, airports, and data centers.

Enlite’s innovation integrates a plug-and-play equipment controller with real-time cloud connectivity and mirrored offline control to ensure uninterrupted operations. Its features include automatic device discovery for faster rollouts and feedback modules designed to enhance safety, efficiency, and optimization of building systems.

“Building automation was long seen as rigid, expensive, and controlled by a few players,” said Garima Bharadwaj, co-founder and chief technology officer of Enlite. “This patent proves that India can create technology that is both credible and future-ready, built to scale globally.”

Chief executive officer and co-founder Gaurav Bali emphasized the system’s tangible outcomes. “Innovation in this sector has often been about ideas. This patent is proof,” he said. “It validates a system already in use, cutting costs, reducing emissions, and showing that India can shape the global conversation on infrastructure technology.”

The development strengthens Enlite’s position as a pioneer in wireless, API-first building automation. By simplifying deployment and improving sustainability outcomes, the company aims to capture opportunities in markets prioritizing energy efficiency, scalability, and enhanced occupant experience.

Founded in India, Enlite positions itself as a product-first company focused on intelligent and responsive environments. Its flagship platform, Know Your Building®, replaces traditional Building Management Systems (BMS) and Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS) with real-time wireless automation. The company has rolled out its technology across more than 70 enterprise sites, covering 30 million square feet of managed environments.

With one patent granted and two more global filings underway, Enlite is looking to expand its presence beyond India into markets such as the Middle East. The recognition, the company said, underscores India’s ability to not only participate in but also lead global innovation in infrastructure technology.
