Kingston Digital, Inc., the flash memory division of Kingston Technology, has introduced a new compact form factor for its NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, aimed at space-constrained devices such as ultraportable laptops and handheld gaming consoles. The newly launched M.2 2230 variant (22x30mm) joins the existing 2280 version, offering users a high-speed, power-efficient upgrade path with storage capacities of up to 2TB.
Powered by a Gen 4×4 NVMe controller, the NV3 2230 delivers sequential read speeds of up to 6,000MB/s and write speeds up to 5,000MB/s, depending on the capacity. The SSD is available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB models, with endurance ratings ranging from 160TB to 640TB total bytes written (TBW), and is built using 3D NAND.
“This new NV3 2230 SSD allows users to not only upgrade their devices but also their experience—whether for work or gaming,” said Keith Schimmenti, SSD business manager at Kingston. “It delivers speed and reliability in a form factor optimized for today’s increasingly compact devices.”
In addition to robust performance, the NV3 2230 includes a one-year license for Acronis® True Image for Kingston software, as well as access to Kingston’s SSD Manager for monitoring drive health, firmware updates, and secure data erasure.
The SSD is backed by a limited five-year warranty and is designed for notebook and desktop workloads, excluding server applications. It operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C and offers a mean time between failures (MTBF) of two million hours.
