Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) has introduced the PI3EQX64904, the industry’s first ReDriver capable of supporting PCI Express (PCIe) 6.0 protocol speeds of up to 64 gigatransfers per second (GT/s). The new linear ReDriver is also fully backward-compatible with PCIe 5.0, 4.0, and 3.0 standards, marking a significant advancement in high-speed signal integrity solutions.
Designed to address demanding applications such as AI data centers, 5G networking, and high-performance computing (HPC), the four-channel PAM4 ReDriver enhances signal quality across critical interconnects including CPU-to-storage (NVMe), CPU-to-network, and CPU-to-CPU pathways.
The PI3EQX64904 features optimized linear equalization with tunable frequency response, allowing it to boost PAM4 signal quality by reducing intersymbol interference and restoring signal integrity. This performance translates into improved eye patterns and reliable data transmission at 64GT/s with low bit error rates.
Compliant with Microsoft’s Modern Standby requirements, the device draws under 5mW in PCIe L1.2 deep standby mode. It also offers ultra-low jitter, high linearity, and low-latency transmission, enabling cost-effective PCB trace extension in power-sensitive environments.
Operating within a -40°C to +85°C temperature range and requiring a 3.3V ±0.3V supply, the ReDriver is housed in a compact 31-contact W-LGA-31L (6.1mm x 2.7mm) package. It is priced at $5.00 in 3,000-unit quantities.
