Chemours Pauses TiO2 Production in Mexico Amid Drought

Chemours Logo

The Chemours Company (NYSE: CC), a global chemistry company, has announced a temporary halt in titanium dioxide (TiO2) production at its Altamira facility. This decision follows a severe drought affecting much of Mexico, which has led to government requests to reduce water intake to conserve water for local communities.

Chemours stated that it remains committed to serving its customers through its other facilities worldwide. The company is working with government, business, and community partners to develop both short-term and long-term solutions to address the water shortage. Due to the uncertainty of external factors, Chemours indicated that it cannot predict the duration of the production pause.

The company highlighted its efforts to manage resources responsibly while continuing to support its customers and community during this period.
