A provider of transport and pharmacy automation solutions, Swisslog Healthcare has announced a strategic partnership with Diligent Robotics to deploy autonomous last-mile delivery robots across hospitals in the United States. The collaboration aims to streamline hospital workflows, increase operational efficiency, and allow healthcare staff to dedicate more time to patient care.
The partnership will integrate Diligent Robotics’ Moxi robot, an autonomous mobile manipulation robot (AMMR), into Swisslog Healthcare’s existing systems. Moxi has already been deployed in over 25 U.S. hospitals, completing more than one million deliveries, including 300,000 pharmacy deliveries. The robot is designed to navigate fast-paced, high-pressure medical environments, complementing Swisslog Healthcare’s existing pneumatic tube systems installed by TransLogic—a Swisslog Healthcare company. The combined solution addresses the “last mile” challenge by transporting items that are too large or sensitive for pneumatic tubes, providing hospitals with a turnkey, end-to-end logistics solution.
