Delta Secures RF Edge in Chip Manufacturing with NRF Buyout

ZMC Absorbs American Semiconductor Silicon Solutions & Services Firm Pure Wafer

Delta Electronics, a power management and smart energy solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of a 90.23% stake in Japan’s Noda RF Technologies Co., Ltd. (NRF) through its subsidiary Delta Electronics (Netherlands) B.V. The transaction, valued at JPY 5,024 million (approximately NT$1,034 million), will bring Delta’s ownership of NRF to 100% upon closing, consolidating its position in the semiconductor power supply market.

NRF, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Osaka, specializes in radio frequency (RF) power supply systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Its products are critical to processes such as etching, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and physical vapor deposition (PVD), directly affecting wafer yield, production precision, and overall chip quality. Beyond semiconductors, NRF’s RF solutions also serve LCD panel manufacturing and other precision industries, earning the company recognition for its R&D capabilities and customized engineering support.

Ping Cheng, Delta’s Chairman and CEO, said the acquisition will enhance the company’s semiconductor-focused power solutions. “Semiconductors are the cornerstone driving technological advancement,” Cheng said. “NRF’s expertise in RF power complements Delta’s energy-efficient solutions. Our past collaborations provide a strong foundation for seamless integration, enabling us to reinforce our portfolio and create synergies in R&D, global business opportunities, and customer support.”

Kazutoshi Noda, CEO of NRF, highlighted the strategic benefits of joining Delta. “Our products are indispensable to semiconductor equipment and industrial digitalization. Leveraging Delta’s global footprint, manufacturing capabilities, and market reach will allow us to deliver greater value to semiconductor applications worldwide,” Noda said.

Delta, listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (code: 2308) and founded in 1971, has a diversified portfolio spanning switching power supplies, thermal management products, IoT-based energy-saving systems, and industrial automation solutions. Its semiconductor-focused offerings target equipment providers requiring high-precision, energy-efficient power solutions for chip production and other high-tech applications.

Industry analysts note that the acquisition strengthens Delta’s position in the semiconductor equipment ecosystem at a time of growing global demand for advanced chips. NRF’s RF expertise, combined with Delta’s manufacturing scale and international distribution network, is expected to create a competitive advantage in providing integrated power solutions for semiconductor fabrication, enhancing both R&D innovation and market responsiveness.
