Firebird, Inc., a U.S.-based AI cloud and infrastructure company, has received U.S. export authorization and announced a $500 million investment to establish high-capacity AI supercomputing infrastructure in Armenia. The project marks the first phase of a planned multi-billion-dollar initiative to position Armenia as a regional hub for artificial intelligence innovation.

The company will deploy one of the region’s most advanced AI clusters, powered by Dell Technologies PowerEdge AI servers and NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, enabling research institutions, enterprises, and technology companies to train and deploy large-scale AI models. Phase one of the deployment is scheduled to go online in the first half of 2026, with applications spanning life sciences, robotics, and space technology.

“Our vision is to democratize access to advanced AI for the benefit of all,” said Razmig Hovaghimian, Co-founder and CEO of Firebird. “This investment marks a foundational step in Armenia’s digital and AI future.” Hovaghimian emphasized that the project seeks to provide global-grade infrastructure to empower engineers, researchers, and innovators.

Alexander Yesayan, Co-founder of Firebird, added that the initiative will help develop a modern digital and AI ecosystem in Armenia, elevate local talent, and attract international investment. “This reflects a strong U.S.–Armenia public-private partnership and stands as a model of collaboration built on mutual trust and technological progress,” he said.

The project has received support from both governments, including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and officials such as U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Agencies including the U.S. Department of State, the Bureau of Industry and Security, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, and Enterprise Armenia have also played key roles in facilitating the collaboration.

This development follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on August 8 in Washington, D.C., establishing a bilateral AI and Semiconductor Innovation Partnership between the U.S. and Armenia. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in technology, innovation, and secure trade, reflecting both nations’ commitment to advancing AI, fostering economic resilience, and promoting responsible technological growth.

Firebird’s initiative highlights Armenia’s emerging role in the global AI ecosystem and underscores the growing trend of U.S. private-public partnerships in international AI infrastructure development. The company has indicated that future expansions will deploy sustainable, high-performance U.S.-standard technology stacks to other emerging markets worldwide.
