Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced the development of a contactless body sensor capable of measuring subtle changes in heart rate, respiration, and other vital signs with high precision. The technology allows for continuous monitoring in settings where traditional contact-based sensors, such as smartwatches, may be impractical.

The sensor is designed to enable accurate daily tracking of key health metrics, particularly for older adults or individuals who may find wearable devices uncomfortable. By capturing vital data without physical contact, the device provides an alternative for environments where skin irritation, discomfort, or safety concerns limit the effectiveness of traditional monitoring methods.
