Omni Design Technologies has announced the release of an expanded suite of silicon intellectual property (IP) solutions tailored for advanced FinFET nodes, catering specifically to the evolving needs of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) applications.
This enhanced LiDAR technology represents a significant advancement beyond conventional distance measurement. Omni Design Technologies’ innovation introduces Doppler shift assessment capability, directly linked to object velocity. This enhanced functionality allows LiDAR systems to not only measure distances but also predict and prevent potential collisions, fostering safer and more efficient navigation.
Central to these developments are the Swift data converters by Omni Design Technologies. These converters offer ultra-high-performance ADCs and DACs while operating at low power. The suite of solutions encompasses specialized receiver channels optimized for next-generation LiDAR, integrating proprietary front-end technology. This integration aims to balance low power consumption and high speed while maintaining a wide dynamic range with dynamic range control for adaptable performance.
Furthermore, the Swift multi-channel ADCs feature varying sampling rates from 200-Msps to 10-Gsps and resolutions from 10-bits to 14-bits. These ADCs seamlessly integrate with supporting components like LDOs, process, voltage, and temperature monitors, bandgap references, and low-jitter Phase Lock Loops (PLLs), ensuring robust performance and reliability.
Omni Design Technologies’ expanded IP portfolio now boasts over fifteen high-performance, low-power solutions specifically tailored for the next generation of LiDAR applications. These advancements aim to streamline time-to-market and mitigate development and deployment risks for their clients.
Dr. Kush Gulati, President, and CEO of Omni Design Technologies, emphasized the company’s commitment to excellence in LiDAR technology. “Our offerings exemplify our dedication to advancing LiDAR technology,” stated Dr. Gulati. This silicon-verified receiver front ends and Swift data converter cores underscore the company’s aspiration to set new industry benchmarks and drive innovation in the LiDAR domain.
