The 21st edition of Pragyan, the internationally acclaimed techno-managerial fest of NIT Tiruchirappalli, concluded on February 23, 2024, after four exhilarating days of innovation, competition, and entertainment. Themed “Panoptica: Break the Code,” the fest lived up to its reputation as one of India’s premier technical festivals, drawing students, professionals, and industry leaders to an array of events, workshops, and panel discussions.
The festival kicked off with a spectacular inaugural ceremony led by Dr. Anbuthambi, the chief guest of Pragyan ‘25, followed by an awe-inspiring performance by Ultimate Striderz. Day 1 set the stage for an engaging experience, with the inauguration of ESI (Exhibition, Sangam, and Ingenium), followed by guest lectures by Dr. Velumani and Anil Swarup, who shared insights on leadership and innovation. Competitions like Circuitrix, Catapult Clash, and Mystica kept participants engaged, while skill-building workshops hosted by Samsung R&D, Upstox, and HCL Technologies provided valuable industry exposure. The day concluded with a dazzling Sand and Light Art performance by Vivek Patil and an electrifying Tron Dance that left the audience spellbound.
The momentum continued on Day 2 with adrenaline-fueled events like the Old Town Road race and Submerge swimming competition. Intellectual challenges in ‘Clique and Clues’, ‘Roundem Up’, and ‘Echoes of Eternity’ tested participants’ critical thinking. Workshops by MongoDB, Autodesk, and Siemens enriched attendees with hands-on learning. The highlight of the evening was a guest talk by UPSC interviewer Dr. Vijendar Singh Chauhan, followed by a mesmerizing Hand-Shadow Art show by Rekha Vyas and a magical performance by Poshak Dua. The night ended with an impressive ventriloquism act by Satyajit Padhye, adding a unique artistic touch.
The final day, Day 3, saw intense competition in Water Rocketry, Robowars, and Friendly Feud, with participants battling for top prizes. Workshops by Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, and Yoi Robotics provided valuable technical insights. A guest lecture by VFX expert Srinivas Mohan offered a behind-the-scenes look into the film industry’s technological advancements. The highly anticipated Crossfire debate ignited thought-provoking discussions on pressing global issues.
As the festival drew to a close, the Valediction ceremony honored participants and organizers, setting the stage for two electrifying proshows. Mysore Express delivered a high-energy performance, while Bollywood singer Antara Mitra captivated the audience with her soulful melodies, ensuring that Pragyan ‘25 ended on a high note.
