Belden Inc. The new cable, which features a small outer diameter of just 0.230 inches (5.84 mm), offers full Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) compliance for 100-meter Category 6A applications, delivering 10-gigabit performance in a significantly more compact form.
As digital transformation accelerates and bandwidth requirements increase, modern buildings are tasked with housing more cables in limited physical spaces. Belden’s new offering responds to this trend by allowing organizations to install high-speed copper links using a cable nearly as small as traditional Category 6, without requiring new conduit installation. The company highlighted that the reduced cable size, along with a filler-free construction, also simplifies installation and termination while reducing material waste—features that align with both cost-efficiency and sustainability goals.
According to Belden, the 10GXM13 cable enhances channel performance while facilitating quicker deployment, particularly when paired with its REVConnect® connectivity system. The cable’s compact and flexible design is intended to help customers maximize space within pathways and enclosures while avoiding thermal buildup and congestion commonly associated with high cable densities.
