PFU America, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Japan-founded PFU Limited, introduced the ScanSnap iX2400 on Tuesday, positioning its newest desktop scanner as a high-speed, affordable option for small businesses, freelancers, and home offices looking to streamline document management.
The iX2400 builds on the company’s ScanSnap line and succeeds the earlier iX1400, while inheriting core capabilities from the flagship iX2500 launched recently. The new model delivers what PFU calls the fastest scanning speed in its class and integrates the company’s latest system-on-a-chip technology, aiming to bring enterprise-grade features to a broader, cost-conscious market segment.
At the center of the device is PFU’s next-generation “iiGA” SoC, which enables double-sided color scanning at up to 45 pages per minute. The scanner’s 100-sheet automatic document feeder places it in performance territory typically associated with higher-end office systems. PFU said the model is designed to handle varied document types through its advanced paper-handling features, including ultrasonic multi-feed detection, a precision brake roller to prevent slippage, and automatic skew correction to reduce jams and protect originals.
The ScanSnap iX2400 also emphasizes ease of use. A single-button interface and USB connectivity aim to reduce setup friction for users handling contracts, receipts, photos, or mixed materials. PFU’s ScanSnap Home software suite — included with the device — serves as a centralized platform for editing, organizing, and storing digital files. The software integrates with major cloud-based tools such as Microsoft Teams, Box, Google Drive, OneNote, Notion, iCloud, and ScanSnap Cloud.
In a move aligned with the growing adoption of ARM-based systems, PFU said ScanSnap Home will support ARM-based Windows PCs beginning December 9, 2025, including devices powered by Qualcomm’s and Microsoft’s expanding ARM ecosystem. The company expects this to deliver a more unified experience across Windows machines.
The model extends PFU’s sustainability initiatives as well. According to the company, the scanner uses 25% recycled plastic in its construction and ships in packaging made without new fossil-based plastics. Its power consumption has been reduced by 23% compared with earlier models, drawing 13W during operation and less than 0.1W when powered off.
“ScanSnap iX2400 reflects our commitment to delivering powerful, yet easy-to-use solutions that support productivity and digital transformation for every work environment,” said Satoshi Kubo, President and CEO of PFU America, Inc., noting that the device brings enterprise-level scanning capabilities to individual users and small businesses.
The iX2400 also supports a range of document types, including thin paper and curled receipts through an attachable receipt guide. PFU’s Clear Image Capture technology, designed to reduce color shifts and moiré patterns, enhances image quality particularly for photos and graphics.
The ScanSnap iX2400 is available immediately in black at a starting price of $369.99. PFU America will also release a Deluxe Edition that includes Kofax Power PDF 4.0, aimed at users needing more advanced PDF creation, editing, and security tools.
