Indian automotive electronics firm A3T Technologies has partnered with global connected vehicle solutions provider Directed Technologies to introduce OEM-grade smart multimedia systems for commercial and passenger vehicles in India. The move aims to elevate safety, connectivity, and productivity across India’s rapidly expanding automotive sector.
Under the strategic agreement, A3T will bring Directed Technologies’ advanced Multimedia Units (MMUs) to Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and aftermarket distributors, offering both factory-fit and dealer-fit installations. The units, already used by more than 5,000 fleets globally, are engineered to international standards and come equipped with high-performance audiovisual navigation, intuitive touchscreen controls, and seamless mobile integration.
“This partnership represents a powerful fusion of proven international technology with deep local expertise,” said Mark Whitmore, Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Growth at Directed Technologies. “Our solutions are already tested across continents and built to meet regulatory, language, and connectivity requirements unique to each region. India’s dynamic transport environment is an ideal next step.”
The MMUs are designed to enhance driver safety by reducing distractions and providing network-aware configuration along with multilingual support—features that cater to the linguistic and infrastructural diversity across Indian states.
Directed Technologies is in the process of establishing a dedicated office in India to drive its automotive market strategy. Vishnu Verma has been appointed as Country Manager to oversee operations. The Australian-based company will leverage A3T’s existing network, which includes established ties with key commercial vehicle manufacturers and regional distributors.
“This partnership will help deliver advanced, reliable, and scalable multimedia solutions to the Indian market,” said Aniketh More, Founder of A3T Technologies. “It’s a significant step forward in revolutionising India’s automotive and technology landscape.”
India’s commercial automotive market, which saw 5.1 million vehicles sold in 2024, is projected to reach 7.5 million units by 2030, making it a vital growth area for global auto tech firms.
Directed Technologies, headquartered at Melbourne Airport in Australia, is known for its connected tech platforms, including e.things Auto, e.things Fleet, and e.things Marketplace. Its solutions span telematics, fleet management, and embedded intelligence, with deployments across Australia, Asia, South America, and Africa.
A3T Technologies brings deep experience in advanced automotive electronics, with capabilities ranging from electronic hardware design to embedded software development and 3D modelling—all supported by in-house manufacturing facilities.
The collaboration is set to accelerate India’s transition to smarter, safer and more connected vehicles, offering scalable solutions suited for both urban and long-haul transport needs.
