Anthony M. Abate, Mike Bokan, Eric Musser, Hong Q. Hou, and, pending regulatory approval, Aris Bolisay will join the Board, with Abate succeeding Tom Werner as Chairman. Existing directors Mark Jensen and Paul Walsh will remain in their roles.
“These new directors bring extensive experience in semiconductors, technology, and finance, and their leadership will be critical as we execute strategic priorities and strengthen our position in the global silicon carbide market,” said Wolfspeed CEO Robert Feurle.
Anthony Abate brings over 40 years of executive experience across technology, telecom, and consumer sectors. Currently chairing GTT Communications, Mitel, and Tacora Resources, Abate previously held leadership and board roles at Echo360, Southeastern Grocers, Denbury, and Broadview Networks. He began his career as a U.S. Air Force officer and holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mike Bokan spent nearly 30 years at Micron Technology, advancing to Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado State University.
Eric Musser, recently retired from Corning Incorporated after a 39-year career, served as President and Chief Operating Officer and led multiple international and technology business units, including Corning Greater China. He is a graduate of West Point and holds a master’s from George Washington University.
Hong Q. Hou, President and CEO of Semtech since 2024, brings deep technical and operational expertise, having led Intel’s cloud and edge networking group and Brooks Automation’s Semiconductor Group. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UC San Diego.
Aris Bolisay, pending approval, is Vice President of Finance at Renesas Electronics, with prior leadership roles at Integrated Device Technology and experience at a Big Four accounting firm. He holds a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of the City of Manila.
The appointments coincide with the departure of seven directors, including Tom Werner, Glenda Dorchak, John Hodge, Darren Jackson, Duy-Loan Le, Stacy Smith, and Marvin Riley, who guided the company through its financial restructuring.
The new Board is expected to accelerate Wolfspeed’s strategic initiatives, reinforce governance, and position the company for growth in electric vehicles, power electronics, and high-performance industrial markets, strengthening its leadership in the global silicon carbide sector.
