RealSense, an AI-powered computer vision, has completed its spinout from Intel Corporation, securing $50 million in Series A funding while announcing a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to advance physical AI in humanoids and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

“This collaboration cements RealSense’s role as the perception platform of choice for AMRs and humanoids,” said Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense. “Our independence from Intel and support from top investors give us the agility to innovate, while our work with NVIDIA accelerates the mainstream adoption of physical AI.”

Backed by a leading semiconductor private equity firm and investors including Intel Capital and MediaTek Innovation Fund, RealSense now operates as an independent, venture-backed company. The funding will support the company’s expansion into emerging markets, scale its manufacturing, and broaden global sales and go-to-market capabilities.

Under the NVIDIA collaboration, RealSense’s depth cameras will integrate with NVIDIA’s robotics platforms, including the Jetson Thor supercomputer for humanoids, Isaac Sim for digital twin simulations, and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for ultra-low-latency IoT sensor streaming. The integration aims to shorten development cycles, enhance perception performance, and accelerate safe, scalable deployment of humanoids and AMRs.

RealSense has a global customer base exceeding 3,000 and holds more than 80 patents. Its depth cameras are embedded in 60% of the world’s AMRs and 80% of humanoid robots, demonstrating strong market traction. The recently launched D555 depth camera, powered by the RealSense Vision SoC V5 and supporting Power over Ethernet (PoE), highlights the company’s continued leadership in embedded vision and edge AI technology.

“Our mission is to enable the world to integrate robotics and AI in everyday life safely,” Orbach said. “We’re building systems that remove danger and drudgery from human work, amplifying human potential with intelligent, secure and reliable vision systems.”

The spinout and NVIDIA partnership occur amid rapid global growth in robotics and biometrics. The robotics market is projected to quadruple from $50 billion to over $200 billion within six years, while demand for humanoid robots is expected to grow at a CAGR above 40%. Simultaneously, facial biometrics are seeing increasing adoption in airports, events, and other everyday applications, underscoring the strategic timing of RealSense’s move toward independent growth and advanced AI integration.
