Power Integrations (Nasdaq: POWI), a developer of high-voltage integrated circuits for energy-efficient power conversion, has announced the appointment of Dr. Jennifer A. Lloyd as its next chief executive officer. The transition will be effective July 21, 2025, with Dr. Lloyd also rejoining the company’s board of directors.
Dr. Lloyd succeeds Balu Balakrishnan, who has served as CEO since 2002. He will remain with the company as executive chairman for approximately six months to facilitate a smooth transition, after which he is expected to stay on as a non-executive board member.
With a career spanning nearly three decades at Analog Devices, Inc., Dr. Lloyd has held senior engineering and executive roles, most recently as corporate vice president leading the company’s multi-market power business unit. She has overseen multiple multi-billion-dollar businesses and brings significant expertise in power products and semiconductor technologies.
Lloyd holds a PhD, master’s, and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT. She holds eight U.S. patents and has been active in the IEEE community, contributing to several technical conferences.
Commenting on the appointment, Balakrishnan said, “Jen Lloyd brings a strong combination of technical knowledge and business acumen. Her familiarity with our products and market will enable her to lead effectively from day one.”
In her statement, Dr. Lloyd highlighted the company’s position in the power-electronics industry and its growth potential. “Power Integrations has built a respected brand with deep intellectual property across process, design, and packaging. I look forward to leading the company as it pursues opportunities in key sectors such as automotive, renewable energy, data centers, and grid modernization.”
Power Integrations develops semiconductor technologies used in a wide range of high-voltage power conversion applications. The company’s integrated solutions are designed to increase energy efficiency and reduce system complexity for manufacturers across multiple industries.
