In a strategic move toward a multi-year CEO succession plan, Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) has unveiled the promotion of Gary Yu to President, effective January 2, 2024. This appointment follows an impactful tenure as Chief Operating Officer, a role Yu assumed in February 2023.
Dr. Keh-Shew Lu, the current Chairman and CEO, will continue steering the company’s direction until at least May 31, 2027, as per his existing employment agreement. Yu’s elevation to President signifies a pivotal moment for Diodes, marking a shift in leadership responsibilities while ensuring a seamless transition.
Yu brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served at Diodes since 2008 and accruing significant expertise during his tenure. His journey includes a decade-long stint at Lite-On Semiconductor, where he held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Prior to that, Yu contributed his skills to Texas Instruments across various capacities in IT, finance, and manufacturing planning.
Under the guidance of Dr. Lu, Yu is poised to lead Diodes into a new era, where his extensive knowledge of the company’s operations, clientele, and manufacturing strategies will play a crucial role in steering the company’s growth trajectory.
Reflecting on the announcement, Dr. Lu remarked, “Gary has been an integral force within Diodes, demonstrating remarkable leadership and vision. His instrumental role in transforming our sales approach has been pivotal in achieving the $2 billion revenue milestone last year.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, Gary Yu stated, “It’s a privilege to spearhead Diodes’ global team in this capacity. I’m committed to furthering our product innovation and leveraging our operational strengths to drive success across diverse markets. With a strong team by our side, we are geared up to embrace the opportunities ahead and propel growth for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
