BERWYN, Pa., and LAKE MARY, Fla., – AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME) and FARO Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: FARO) announced today a definitive agreement under which AMETEK will acquire FARO Technologies for $44 per share in cash. The offer represents a 40% premium over FARO’s May 5 closing price and values the transaction at approximately $920 million in enterprise value.
The boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved the transaction, which is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1981, FARO is a leading global provider of 3D measurement and imaging solutions, including portable arms, laser scanners, trackers, and supporting software. With annual sales of approximately $340 million, the Florida-based firm serves a wide range of end markets with its precision manufacturing and digital reality solutions.
