Galaxy Data Centres has appointed Ash Roberts as Vice President, Commercial, to lead the next phase of growth for its UK operations, following the company’s acquisition of the Redhill Data Centre in Greater London earlier this year.
Roberts, a technology sales veteran with extensive experience in data centre and telecommunications sectors, will oversee commercial operations across Galaxy’s UK portfolio, including the Redhill facility, and focus on attracting enterprise and hyperscale clients aligned with the company’s capabilities. His approach emphasizes strategic customer targeting and partnerships rather than broad-based sales.
“I’ve already seen how Galaxy delivers measurable outcomes for clients through smart energy procurement and continuous innovation, reducing energy costs by up to 30%,” Roberts said. “This creates a genuine competitive advantage, and I’m committed to extending that value to new and existing customers.”
Galaxy co-founder and managing partner Dave Misra welcomed the appointment, highlighting Roberts’ track record in building high-performing teams and cultivating long-term client relationships. “Ash’s expertise with enterprise and hyperscale clients makes him an ideal fit as Galaxy enters its next growth phase,” Misra said.
The Redhill Data Centre, offering 15MW of available capacity, reflects Galaxy’s strategy to address constrained energy markets while developing AI-ready, sustainable infrastructure. Roberts will also lead the company’s expansion into new UK markets, seeking to differentiate Galaxy’s offerings in a sector where global competitors are rapidly strengthening their positions.
Roberts said, “To succeed, we must create new avenues of differentiation and value. Galaxy is uniquely positioned to deliver AI-ready, energy-efficient solutions that meet critical market needs.”
