OrbitsIQ Global, a Luxembourg-based telecommunications company specializing in satellite and terrestrial network integration, has acquired UNIO Enterprise, a Munich-based broadband connectivity provider focused on merging space-based and terrestrial networks. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2022 as a joint venture between Isar Aerospace, Reflex Aerospace, Mynaric, and SES, UNIO has developed solutions to eliminate connectivity dead zones, delivering uninterrupted digital access to mobile users across air, land, and sea. Its flagship product, UNIO Move, provides a turnkey B2B platform that intelligently fuses satellite and terrestrial broadband — including 4G and 5G — to ensure continuous connectivity for sectors such as automotive, maritime, and aviation.

OrbitsIQ, founded in 2024, operates globally with headquarters in Luxembourg and offices in the U.S. and other regions. The company aims to bridge terrestrial cellular and satellite networks to deliver uninterrupted services for mobile and autonomous systems — from connected vehicles to commercial aircraft and vessels.

“We are very pleased to announce this transaction and welcome UNIO to the OrbitsIQ global team,” said Joe Euteneuer, Chairman and CEO of OrbitsIQ. “UNIO’s industry-first, AI-powered smart switch enables uncompromised digital applications and seamlessly complements our global anywhere-anytime connectivity vision.”

Euteneuer added that the acquisition strengthens OrbitsIQ’s position in global telematics innovation, enabling multi-band mobility connectivity to enhance efficiency, safety, and data-driven operations worldwide.

UNIO CEO Katrin Bacic called the deal a “significant milestone” for the German firm. “Partnering with OrbitsIQ allows us to continue our mission of enabling reliable broadband for mobile assets while maintaining our team and innovation focus,” Bacic said. “Together, we aim to solve the persistent challenge of unreliable connectivity through seamless network integration.”
