EMTAR Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2023, announced the successful silicon validation of its intelligent wireless system-on-chip designed for 6G non-terrestrial networks (NTN). Developed in collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) as a direct account, the breakthrough marks a key milestone in next-generation wireless communication, combining advanced integration, exceptional sensitivity, and ultra-low latency within a single chip platform.
The new chip demonstrates significant improvements in signal integrity, power efficiency, and wireless connectivity. Leveraging sophisticated RF, analog, and mixed-signal design techniques, EMTAR’s system achieves ultra-low noise, wide output power dynamic range, and real-time signal adaptability through built-in mixed-signal processing. The result is consistent sensitivity, stable throughput, and ultra-low latency across diverse and dynamic channel conditions—attributes critical to meeting the rigorous demands of emerging 6G NTN standards.
EMTAR’s intelligent system architecture is engineered to address long-standing performance and deployment challenges without increasing size, weight, or power consumption. The platform enables high-efficiency, compact, and lightweight devices suited for deployment in constrained environments such as drones, connected vehicles, and high-altitude platforms (HAPs), where power, latency, and thermal limits often hinder connectivity.
In addition to its performance gains, EMTAR’s solution supports integration with secure cloud infrastructure, ensuring end-to-end data sovereignty through encrypted intelligence and private network capabilities. This design empowers enterprises to maintain full control over their data while enabling scalable, secure, and high-performance connectivity for real-world 6G applications.
“The successful silicon validation of EMTAR’s latest chip for 6G non-terrestrial networks marks a milestone in bringing our intelligent wireless system chip to market,” said Alvis Huang, Founder and CEO of EMTAR Technologies. “As a direct account with TSMC, EMTAR has the flexibility and depth of collaboration needed to deliver high-performance solutions that meet the stringent requirements of next-generation NTN applications.”
