InCountry, a provider of data protection solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence, identity, and data sovereignty, announced it has raised $10 million in a funding round led by Arbor Ventures, with participation from Caffeinated Ventures and new investor Accelerator Ventures. The funding will accelerate the global deployment of InCountry’s newly launched AgentCloak, a next-generation AI agent data protection platform.
AgentCloak uses tuned AI to generalize sensitive information and ensure privacy and compliance. The platform can detect and cloak personal data such as names, addresses, and account numbers, as well as generalize information—for example, transforming “headache” into “minor neurological condition,” “Berlin” into “EU,” or an age like “32” into the “30-39” bracket.
The technology can identify individuals within broader interactions, such as “I’m writing about my father’s test results,” offering robust data minimization. Within individual countries, AgentCloak leverages Sovereign AI trained on local names, addresses, and vernacular to identify sensitive data, including medical terms. The solution uses InCountry’s digital twin technology to cloak and secure information, allowing AI agents to operate across borders while adhering to regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act, China’s PIPL, and Saudi Arabia’s PDPL.
AgentCloak integrates with agentic workflows as an MCP Server, MCP Proxy, or A2A Proxy, supporting training of AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and controlled unmasking of sensitive data with identity-based authorization.
“As AI is poised to revolutionize industries, prioritizing data privacy, trust, and compliance is critical,” said Peter Yared, Founder and CEO of InCountry. “We’re excited to launch AgentCloak for businesses requiring compliant AI agent deployments globally.”
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco, InCountry operates in 65 countries and is backed by investors including Accenture, Caffeinated Capital, Arbor Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Felicis Ventures, Mubadala, and Charles River Ventures. The new funding will support research and development, strategic partnerships, and global market expansion.
“We’re thrilled to back InCountry’s vision for global AI data protection,” said Melissa Guzy, General Partner at Arbor Ventures. “AgentCloak’s AI-driven data generalization and secure digital twin technology offer enterprises a scalable way to protect customer data across borders.”
