Syrma SGS Technology Ltd., an Indian electronics systems design and manufacturing firm, has entered into a joint venture with Italian electronics group Elemaster S.p.A Tecnologie Elettroniche to expand high-reliability electronics production in India.
The venture, Syrma SGS Elemaster Pvt. Ltd., will focus on railway, industrial and medical electronics, sectors that require stringent quality and reliability standards, the companies said in a joint statement Tuesday. The new facility will be located at Bommasandra Industrial Area in Bengaluru, with an initial 20,000 square feet of space housing surface-mount technology (SMT), through-hole technology (THT) and box-build assembly lines.
By combining Syrma’s scaled, cost-efficient execution with Elemaster’s design expertise and long-standing European customer relationships, the partnership aims to strengthen India’s role as a manufacturing base for complex, high-value electronics. The companies said the venture would unlock margin-accretive opportunities, deepen relationships with global original equipment manufacturers and accelerate adoption of “Make in India” solutions in critical markets.
“This joint venture represents a milestone in our journey to build a global high-reliability electronics platform out of India,” said Sandeep Tandon, chairman of Syrma SGS Technology. “By combining Syrma’s world-class execution with Elemaster’s deep relationships with European OEMs, we are unlocking new growth vectors in rail, industrial and medical segments.”
Satendra Singh, chief executive officer of Syrma SGS, said the joint structure allows the company to dedicate resources to high-reliability segments while maintaining efficient cost structures and scalable operations. He added that the phased expansion plan and joint governance will position the venture for sustained growth.
Elemaster, headquartered in Lomagna, Italy, provides design and manufacturing services for a range of high-tech industries. Chief Executive Officer Valentina Cogliati said India has become a strategic market for the company’s customers. “This joint venture with Syrma SGS gives us a reliable, competitive and scalable base in the region,” she said. “Together, we will bring Elemaster’s design depth and customer relationships to India, aligned with Syrma’s strong manufacturing pedigree.”
Elemaster’s Chief Commercial Officer Giovanni Cogliati called the collaboration a “solid solution” for customers seeking local production in India. He said the venture will involve significant investment in manufacturing space, equipment and organizational resources to capture new opportunities while maintaining high service levels.
The move underscores rising global interest in India as a hub for high-value electronics production, particularly in industries where reliability and quality are paramount.
