Gigapower, a commercial wholesale fiber broadband provider, announced the expansion of its high-speed fiber network across six U.S. states, connecting dozens of municipalities to its multi-gigabit platform over the past two years. The company’s open access network now serves select communities in Florida, New Mexico, Northeastern Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Southeastern Minnesota.
The expansion underscores Gigapower’s commitment to increasing broadband availability, offering residents and businesses greater choice and competition among internet service providers (ISPs). By deploying a “build it once” model, the company enables multiple ISPs to operate on the same infrastructure, reducing construction duplication, accelerating time-to-market, and enhancing flexibility for end users.
“At Gigapower, our mission from day one has been to deploy scalable, future-ready infrastructure that expands access and choice for communities,” said CEO Bill Hogg. “Through the hard work of our team, contractors, as well as with the collaboration of local community leaders, we are making rapid progress towards our goal. Gigapower is in an ideal position to enter more markets and bring connectivity to more communities.”
Gigapower’s fiber footprint now covers key areas including Greater Orlando and Florida’s Panhandle, Albuquerque in New Mexico, Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Greater Charlotte areas of North and South Carolina, and Southern Minneapolis in Minnesota. The company aims to reach 1.5 million fiber locations nationwide, a move expected to support economic growth, close connectivity gaps, and provide reliable high-speed internet to underserved regions.
The expansion also aligns with a broader trend of commercial open access networks, which prioritize scalable infrastructure capable of accommodating multiple providers and supporting future bandwidth demands. Gigapower plans to continue collaborating with ISPs to deliver robust broadband access, leveraging its network to drive competition and improve service quality for communities across the country.
