Forgent Power Solutions, Inc., a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of electrical distribution equipment, has announced a major brand consolidation and the appointment of a new chief executive, signaling an expanded push into data centers, the power grid, and industrial applications.
Effective immediately, Forgent Power will serve as the parent brand for MGM Transformers, PwrQ, States Manufacturing, and VanTran. The four companies have operated under common ownership since 2023, and the creation of the Forgent brand marks the final step in completing their integration. The move is designed to highlight the company’s combined capabilities while retaining the specialized strengths of each individual unit.
“Forgent arrives at a pivotal moment,” said Gary Niederpruem, who was appointed CEO in May 2025. Niederpruem brings more than two decades of experience in the data center equipment sector, having held multiple executive positions at Vertiv. “The need for power distribution equipment to support growth in data centers, the power grid, and domestic manufacturing has never been greater. At the same time, customers are demanding increasing levels of customization to meet rapidly evolving requirements. Forgent brings the product breadth, manufacturing depth, and application engineering expertise customers need to address bottlenecks and meet their most critical power challenges,” he added.
The new Forgent brand aims to increase awareness of the company’s wide product portfolio and customization capabilities, communicate its mission of eliminating bottlenecks in digital and industrial operations, and reinforce its reputation for speed, quality, and scalable solutions.
To support the launch, the company has also unveiled a platform where customers can access the full product range and connect with a team of application engineers and industry specialists. The site consolidates information that was previously spread across the separate brands, streamlining access to the company’s engineered-to-order offerings.
