Swedish electronics supplier WireFlow AB has landed a volume order from Norwegian Subsea to provide customized circuit boards for maritime motion control and navigation systems.
The contract covers 400 carrier circuit boards and 400 three-axis plug-in magnetic sensor boards, totaling 800 devices, all integrated with LabVIEW reference software. The equipment will support Norwegian Subsea’s high-performance Motion Reference Units (MRUs) and motion sensors, which are deployed in marine, subsea, and land-based applications. Deliveries are scheduled for the third quarter.
Under the agreement, WireFlow will handle circuit board design upgrades, verification, volume production, and testing. “We are proud to share that Norwegian Subsea has once again selected WireFlow, further strengthening our 10-year partnership,” said Stefan Mattsson, Head of Product Business Unit at WireFlow.
The order also highlights WireFlow’s continued collaboration with National Instruments (NI), leveraging the LabVIEW platform to integrate reliable test and measurement solutions into customer hardware.
Norwegian Subsea CEO Fredrik Dukan said outsourcing electronics design and manufacturing allows the company to concentrate on its core expertise: developing advanced sensor fusion algorithms for navigation and motion measurement. “WireFlow has proven expertise in integrating custom electronics with NI platforms and will supply us with best-in-class products to support our mission,” he said.
Founded in 2014, Norwegian Subsea specializes in Motion Reference Units and motion sensors delivering accurate and reliable measurements for control and monitoring across maritime, subsea, and land environments. The latest order introduces enhanced three-axis magnetic sensing and a new communication interface for improved performance.
