Quartz Imaging Corporation, a provider of microscopy and metrology software, has launched PCI-AM Version 9, its most advanced software release to date. The latest version introduces a key innovation: AI-based template matching technology, designed to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency in automated semiconductor measurements.

The new release is aimed at addressing the growing complexity of modern semiconductor architectures, where conventional metrology tools often fall short. The software allows users to create graphical templates specifying the measurements required. Once designed, machine learning algorithms automatically identify, align, and measure corresponding features across single or batched microscope images without manual intervention.

“This is one of the most important software releases in our company’s history,” said Andrew Brown, President of Quartz Imaging. “The new template matching technology in PCI-AM Version 9 isn’t just a feature—it’s a fundamental advancement for semiconductor metrology.”

With device geometries becoming increasingly intricate and tolerances narrowing, semiconductor labs require more robust tools. PCI-AM Version 9 aims to meet these demands with a solution that automates previously manual and time-consuming measurement tasks. The software is expected to improve measurement repeatability and reduce variability among users, aligning with the industry’s shift toward higher automation and efficiency.

Built on Quartz Imaging’s existing PCI platform, the software integrates image capture, annotation, processing, and reporting functions. The new template matching engine complements these capabilities, providing labs with a comprehensive and intelligent measurement workflow.

Quartz Imaging emphasized that this release is part of a broader strategy to push metrology software toward intelligent automation. As industries focus on next-generation chip design and advanced materials, the company sees potential for its tools to support faster innovation and more scalable solutions.

Quartz Imaging Corporation serves a global customer base across semiconductor, electronics, and materials science sectors. With PCI-AM Version 9, the company aims to strengthen its position in the high-precision measurement segment by delivering tools that address both current challenges and future needs.
