Pioneer India has launched its advanced Automotive 360° Surround View Camera System aimed at enhancing driver safety and operational visibility in India’s increasingly complex urban traffic environments. Simultaneously, the company announced a key OEM partnership with a leading Indian automaker, marking a strategic milestone in its localization and expansion efforts across the Indian automotive landscape.
The new system provides drivers with a real-time, bird’s-eye composite view of their surroundings using four ultra-wide-angle HD/FHD cameras. Designed for seamless integration into both new and existing vehicle platforms, the system leverages advanced image stitching and low-latency video processing to reduce blind spots, improve pedestrian awareness, and support parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
Key features include ruggedized build quality for Indian road conditions, fast auto-calibration, compatibility with OEM vehicle architecture via CAN support, and integration into standard or custom in-dash displays. Pioneer stated that the system is developed, manufactured, and delivered entirely in India, aligning with the government’s Make-in-India initiative.
“This rollout is a proud moment for our team in India,” said Aniket Kulkarni, Managing Director, Pioneer India. “It demonstrates our capability to deliver complex OEM-grade technology locally—from R&D to full integration—and reinforces our commitment to the Indian automotive market.”
The product is part of Pioneer’s broader globalization strategy led by its India-based Advanced R&D team, and it marks the company’s first OEM deployment of advanced automotive camera solutions in India.
“This is just the beginning,” said Dr. Siva Subramanian, Executive Officer, Pioneer Corporation and CEO of its Mobility AI & Connectivity Business Unit. “India is a key strategic market, and we aim to deepen our engagements with OEMs to deliver intelligent, safety-enhancing in-vehicle experiences across the country.”
Pioneer India is the Indian subsidiary of Japan-headquartered Pioneer Corporation, known globally for its innovations in automotive infotainment, audio, and safety systems.
